Award winning construction

With the first stage completed and occupied consisting of a mix of 97 Villas and Apartments, construction of the first four Villas (67 to 70) in the next stage has now commenced.  McConnell Property has come on board as Development Manager to complete the remaining stages and has retained Kalmar Construction, who built the villas in the previous stages. Kalmar won the 2007 Registered Master Builders award for Point Ridge in recognition of excellence in workmanship and construction practices.

Inspiration for Point Ridge came from two sources; first the centuries old hillside towns of Italy and secondly recent resort-like housing developments. Traditional Italian villages on a hill top or mountain flank appear to grow out of the landform using local materials that blend with the countryside. Translating this to Albany, Point Ridge employs a combination of clay colours on plaster walls combined with terracotta roof tiles and cobblestone paving to give a homogenous organic appearance within the landscape.

How will the homes be different from the previous stage?

 
In keeping with the theme the external design of the next Villas is the same as the existing ones.  The finishes will be a combination of clay tones on masonry walls combined with Italian terracotta roof tiles and paved paths.  The point of difference will be the inside of the homes.  Designers Yellow Fox and Sarah Kerr Design  have been commissioned to provide a fresh new look for the interiors which will feature earthy toned colour schemes, tiled kitchens and bathrooms, Caesarstone kitchen benches and high quality stainless steel kitchen appliances.
