Located on Auckland’s North Shore, Point Ridge is close to State Highway 1 and to the Auckland Park-and-Ride terminal for the Northern Express bus service which provides regular services to the Auckland  CBD. The development has easy access to Albany City which features New Zealand’s largest Shopping Mall, North Harbour stadium and a growing commercial core.

Albany has become the fastest growing area in North Shore City. In 2001 there were 21,612 people living in the Albany area, an increase of 55.9 per cent since 1996. In 2002 there were 17,080 people employed in full-time jobs.

Estimates show that by 2021 there could be between 44,000 and 55,000 people living there and 35,000 and 40,000 people working in the wider Albany area. Albany City will become a new subregional centre for North Shore City.

Beaches

Point Ridge is close to more than 140km of coastline. There are many beautiful bays and beaches with spectacular marine scenery offering opportunities to swim, boat, and fish.
A great way to enjoy the sea is to go on a coastal walk. From Long Bay to Torbay, Browns Bay, Rothesay Bay, Murrays Bay, Mairangi Bay, Campbells Bay, Castor Bay, Milford and Takapuna
At the beach reserves there are playgrounds, wharves, boat ramps, dinghy lockers and toilets. 

 

Parks

Fifteen percent of North Shore City’s land area is covered by parks,  With more than 500 parks including some 90 sportsfields, 117 children’s playgrounds and more than 150 bush reserves.
Together, the city’s parks, sportsfields and bush reserves cover an area of more than 1700 hectares.

Shopping

Westfield Albany is a new shopping centre the largest in New Zealand in fact.  It provides over 2,000 carparks for around 150 specialty stores, as well Farmers, a Kmart and a New World with Pak and Save close by, and also contains a multiplex cinema and a 560 seat food court which includes major fastfood franchises
